Our Vision
Our vision is to promote a quality life that is unhampered by heart disease and stroke. Based on our latest reports, we are glad to report that we are making real progress. According to research, heart disease and stroke death rates have reduced by over 75% in the last six decades.
We envision a community that is uninterrupted by stroke and heart disease. The desire for this progress is what has driven us to establish Life After Strokes – an attempt to give you the upper hand in dealing with heart disease and stroke.
What We Do
Life After Strokes is a research initiative that changes lives in the best way possible through top-notch stroke treatments and revolutionary transplant surgeries.
Our goal is to help Canadians lead healthier lives. This can be as simple as encouraging more physical activity to avert and stabilize high blood pressure. We aim to elicit changes that will give better health for all, like lowering salt intake and providing easier access to stroke rehabilitation.
There is a lot of work to do, and we are prepared to do it.
An Urgent Threat
About 1.6 million people are living with the debilitating after-effects of conditions like stroke, heart disease, and related conditions. In Canada, it is believed that these conditions cause the death of one person every five minutes. Also, statistics show that about 90% of Canadians have at least one risk factor such as obesity, sedentary lifestyles, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
