Implementing Telestroke in Canada

In 2012, the Canadian Stroke Network commissioned a national report entitled Expanding Telestroke in Canada that called for the wider adoption of telestroke services using a regional development model. Recognizing that regions or provinces might require catalytic funding in order to adopt, expand, or evaluate telestroke, the CSN has contributed $675,000 since June 2013 to encourage the implementation of these services across the country.

Implementing Telestroke in Canada is a follow-up report that focuses on the seven projects that received telestroke funding from the Canadian Stroke Network. It shines light on some of the crucial efforts being made to implement these services in Canada and encourages every region to adopt telestroke until all Canadians, no matter where they live, can have equal access to best practice stroke care.
